Pre-Wedding Holiday

We are just in the process of booking our pre-wedding holiday in December so we can celebrate our anniversary and do some pre-wedding meeting. Ben suggested to stay 5 nights instead of 7 and with the money we save on accommodation, car hire, food, etc we can spend on shopping.. God I love Ben, he knows me too well =) We only need to allocate 2 days to do wedding stuff so it's great we still have heaps of time to shop, relax and enjoy. He's booking an early flight there and a late flight back so we have that extra time to soak up the sun =)
I'm so excited to spend time with him without the kids and I can't wait for our wedding. I just wish it would hurry up hehe.

Save the Dates

So yesterday afternoon I decided to complete my save the dates. Ben and I decided we wanted to do something a little different so we went with doing a love story save the date and then rolling them up and putting them in a message in a bottle to keep the beach theme going. It was a fun little activity and Max sat with me and punched holes in paper while Jayden was in bed.

I pre made one the other day to get an idea of what I wanted. I also filled all the bottles with sand and shells ready for when I decided to make them. I set up my station and was ready to go.. the light is horrible in some pics and they were only taken from the phone so quality not crash hot but you'll get the idea.

Station all set up with sissors, hot glue gun, stanly knife, cutting board, ruler and all the little bits and pieces for the save the dates like the star fish and shells. I printed out the save the dates onto white shimmery metallic paper, cut them down to size. Also printed the names onto the same paper to make little tags for each guest.

Our save the date quirky wording

I rolled up some of the save the dates and cut up all the name tags and punched holes in them.

I hot glue gunned the star fish to the tags

Max having fun punching holes in paper =)

I tied rafia string to the rolled up save the date so it becomes easy to pull them out. I went around the neck of the bottle a few times with the string then threaded through the name tags and a shell slice and hot glue gunned the end of the rafia to the back of the bottle.

 Corks on an voilĂ !!
Just another view of the finished product.

All done, I had fun making them and excited to send them off.
Thanks to Beautiful Beach Weddings for suppling all the DIY which included; glass bottles, mailing tubes, sand, shells, starfish and the rafia string. they turned out great!!

Wedding Ceremony

We have booked our ceremony transport, stylist, celebrant and our photographer. We are really excited and glad that we are really all under way

We are planning to head up to the gold coast in Dec to meet with everyone to make sure everything runs smoothly and we can go through exactly what we envision for our wedding day. It also means Ben and I get a week holiday for our anniversary at the same time! thanks dad for baby sitting =)
Our Celebrant Candy is just lovely to talk to. I can't wait to meet her and am so glad she is going to be our Celebrant, she's really going to make sure we are looked after =)

Ben wanted a white Jaguar for our wedding transport, it looks really nice and even better with the nice white wedding ribbon hehe. Clare and I will arrive at the ceremony in it and Ben and I will taken back to our reception.. It will look fabulous in the photos. Hire company is Kenz Classic
Beautiful Beach Weddings is styling our wedding, they have some amazing work and take the stress out of our day by styling the wedding, even helping with guests, playing music and helping with the over all running's of the wedding and they take it all away at the end. We have a vision for our ceremony and they can for fill that with all there hire decorations. I can't wait to meet with them in December to finalize all the ceremony decor. I also purchased my diy save the dates from them and they look great, you'll have to wait for a later post with pics =P

Our photographer is probably the most important to us as we would really love to capture our day and all it's special moments. We originally didn't think about video but we are now doing that also. Him and his wife do the photography and his brother the video. He's such a lovely man that's really taken the time to find out about us so he can capture us in the best way. He's helped creating a package to suit us and is also more then happy to help with any other wedding preparation on his end as we are so far away. I originally found him from my celebrants website so they have recommended each other so it's worked out well =)

I never realised how much organising goes into a wedding, especially a destination one. But I'm just so excited to meet with everyone and I've also have booked my hair stylist and makeup artists and will have a trial in Dec on our anniversary so I will have nice hair and makeup to go to a nice romantic dinner =)
Anyways I'll update some more in next post.

Wedding Low Down & Accommodation

So now we've picked a day to get married we have pretty much decided how we'd like the whole thing to go. We want a private destination wedding with mainly family and a few friends. The ceremony will be on the beach on the gold coast and the reception so to speak at the accommodation we are staying at. It will be an 11am ceremony followed by a catered lunch.

Clare is going to be my maid of honour and John is going to be best man and there partners are coming too.
We have booked accommodation at Acqua Amalfi Manson it is absolutely gorgeous, so the 6 of us will stay there for a week and this is also where we are having our catered lunch after the wedding ceremony.

I'll post some pics but heaps more when you click the link.

I am so excited. Dad and Hilda are having the kids at different accommodation at Ashmore Palms Holiday Village so that it gives Ben and I some privacy and it is better suited the kids as there are so many cool things for them to do. They have lots there including;
  • 2 swimming lagoons
  • Playground
  • Full size tennis court
  • Barbecue areas
  • Garden walkways
  • Bird aviaries
and that is only some features. Max will have so much fun and Jayden will have heaps of space to run a muck!

Well I'll update you on more wedding stuff in another another post =)
